The ongoing programme of pavement repairs, as agreed at Frances’ annual local highways meeting held each Autumn in the library, rolls on. Following the recent repairs in The Mead and Alva Way, a much damaged section of pavements in Harrow Way has also been repaired.
Angela Roberts says: “I am pleased at this steady improvement in our pavements and roads – but there is still much to do”.
Station Approach should have been resurfaced last year, at the same time as Gibbs Couch, but it was deferred. However, after Frances chased them up it was completed recently.
New road surfaces are scheduled for The Courtway, Compton Place, Foxleys (between its junction with Leigh Road, down to number 1 where it joins The Mead) and Upper Tail. The first, The Courtway, is scheduled for later this month.
Major patching is scheduled for Oxhey Lane later this year together with, hopefully, Little Oxhey Lane by the railway bridge. Angela says: “About time too! The patching may have kept the road surface safe, but it is not nice to drive over”.
