At Frances Button’s very well attended public meeting in Oxhey Library in November to discuss local priorities for roads and pavements, it was unanimously agreed to continue improving the pavements in Brookdene Avenue next year at a cost in excess of £20,000. This means that the pavements on both sides will have been repaired.
Frances explained that Highways engineers had reviewed the pavements in Raglan Gardens, Hampermill Lane and Vivian Garden/Close too, and had also taken into account which pavements are most used. They recommended that serious consideration be given to Hampermill Lane the following year, particularly the sections between Brookdene Ave, Raglan Gardens and Oaklands Ave.
Frances confirmed a similar review will take place this November and all will be welcome. Local resident Sandy Bishop said “I enjoyed attending the face-to-face consultation and found it a great way for residents to voice their concerns and influence decisions.”
