Following Richard Harrington’s recent meetings with Network Rail, they have now confirmed that they are hoping to deliver the improvements to the West Coast Main Line without a 16 day closure in August as they had originally planned.
The West Coast Main Line does need a significant upgrade and this should mean a more reliable service between Watford and London. In order to do this some closures will be necessary and we know many people were understandably concerned about travel arrangements for August.
Details are currently being finalised, and we should know more next month after Network Rail have met with train operating companies. Once details are confirmed Richard will be contacting London Underground and the Department for Transport to ask for increased frequency of trains on other lines.
Richard said “Thank you to Oxhey Hall residents who have been in touch about the planned works. I meet with Network Rail and London Midland regularly to push for better services. The works are vital and some disruption is inevitable, but I am pleased that rail bosses are looking again at the plans.”
We understand that London Overground services from Bushey and Carpenders Park will not be effected.
