Richard Harrington MP hosts 60 constituents on a tour of Parliament.
Visitors were shown around the House of Commons and House of Lords Chambers, as well as St Stephen’s Hall, Central Lobby and Westminster Hall. There was also a Q&A session in which constituents put their thoughts and questions to their Member of Parliament.
“When I was first elected, I was surprised to find out how many people hadn't visited Parliament, especially as we are so close!
It's a great privilege to be working in such a historic building, and I think it's only right that it's open to the public. That's why I organise these tours for local residents. It is also a great way for me to meet my constituents and an excellent opportunity to discuss local matters face to face.
It was great to see young people in attendance, I think it is really important that we engage people of all ages in politics, and that they get to see the workings of Westminster.”
