Linda Topping is pleased to see that Leon’s Fruit Shop is doing well in its new location by the roundabout. She is starting a campaign to urge local residents to use Watford’s local shops and restaurants or risk losing them.
Linda says, “With these tough economic times, especially during the post-Christmas lull, independent shops are feeling the pinch. I know we all like the convenience of using the big supermarkets and online stores, but if we forget about our local shops our town will become a less diverse and vibrant place to live.
Local shops are vital in keeping local communities alive. They provide services to the community, especially the elderly, vulnerable and those without transport. So I am delighted to see the varied nature of shops on the Cassiobury Estate.”
