The W20 is running on a different timetable during the closure of Orphanage Road, Watford, for the bridge repair.
The new bridge will be installed over the Easter weekend, and the W20 timetable is scheduled to return to normal from April 17th. Because the route takes longer, there are currently six buses a day, leaving Oaklands Avenue at 09.00, 10.05, 11.10, 12.15 13.20 and 14.25.
For both the W20 and the 8, please make sure you let us know of any problems, delays or early running.
Meanwhile please do reply to the county council’s bus consultation which ends on 10 April. It only relates to subsidised buses, the commercial buses that make money for the bus companies are not affected. The proposals are to :
Keep the subsidised Sunday buses which go to hospitals (this includes the 8),
Keep the subsidised buses up to 19.30 each day,
Review how big bus subsidies should be. The W20 subsidy is just 76p per passenger journey, the evening and Sunday 8 subsidy is up to £1.56 per passenger journey but elsewhere in the county some buses are subsidised up to £8.43 per journey.
