The Grove Golf Club has always been pretty special, it is in Watford after all, but Saturday 23rd April saw the Prime Minister and US President, Barack Obama, play a round at our local course.
Richard Harrington MP said, “It is brilliant that Watford has been recognised on the world stage once again. David Cameron has joined me in Watford scores of times now and I’d like President Obama to know he is welcome back anytime. I think we can get them both down to Vicarage Road next!”
Cllr Linda Topping (Nascot and Chairman of the local Conservative Association) watched both the PM and President tee off, she said. “The President has a pretty decent drive, however, our PM who teed off second would be my Captain’s choice for the Ryder Cup Team. The British Masters will be played at The Grove in October and I’m looking forward to inviting both the President and Prime Minister to come back and see what a fantastic show Watford can put on”.
