Binita has been meeting with Triangle Residents’ Association representatives, Council Officers and co-councillors regarding possible parking solutions acceptable for all residents.
Following a positive ‘practicality assessment’ from Watford Council, once the development portfolio holder accepts this as an urgent proposition, our idea will be put to residents for their views.
This is to convert the current restrictions, which prevent parking between 9-11am or 2-4pm Monday to Friday, to residents’ permit bays, which would operate for the same hours 7 days a week. This would allow residents with permits to park on the road at all times. However, during the bays’ operational hours, non-permit holders would not be allowed to do so.
Permit costs in the rest of Cassiobury are £22 for the first permit and £52 for the second. This is limited to 1 permit per person and a maximum of 2 permits per council tax address. Binita is challenging this. Visitor vouchers are £4.50 per book. To ensure a fair and apolitical consultation, the Council will be managing the consultation process.
Binita says “Following ongoing discussions about parking and access difficulties for residents, I sincerely hope that this solution is acceptable to the community as a practical compromise. I hope the portfolio holder considers my request to prioritise this work.”
