Throughout the summer it has been Business As Usual for your Conservative Team. We represent you at Westminster (Richard Harrington, MP), Hertfordshire County Council (Frances Button), Three Rivers District (Ty Harris) and Watford Rural Parish (Ann Grant). Former Parish Councillor John Kyles is also very active in our community and has been working on local issues:
John persuaded the District Council to weed-kill the weeds growing under the railings at the junction of Hampermill Lane & Brookdene Ave once again – this will require systematic treatment which should have been happening in recent years.
He thanks Hertfordshire for replacing the broken ‘wonky’ road sign in Hampermill Lane opposite the repaired bus shelter, warning drivers of the Hillcroft Crescent junction.
John is asking the County Council to review the number of beds proposed in the new Residential Home at Little Furze, to ensure there will be sufficient for local needs. He is also asking about the impact of a future demolition of The Fairway (which could not happen before 2018/9) which could result in new housing off Green Lane, near The Highlands.
Library: Children’s Presentations
On Saturday 19th September, County Councillor Frances Button will be presenting prizes and certificates in Oxhey Library to children who completed the Summer Reading Challenge by reading at least six books during the school holidays.
South Oxhey update
The next consultation, proposed to take place this month has been deferred. Meanwhile the South Oxhey Initiative Steering Committee is meeting on 14 September. Hopefully more information will become available on what might be included in the new proposals and when the next consultation is planned. We will keep you informed.
