One of the controversial chicanes in Nascot Wood Road will be removed as a result of the development of the Rounton site. It will be replaced by a ‘speed table’ which will help to reduce vehicle speed, but will not cause the same driver frustrations as a chicane. The traffic calming scheme which was installed for this road followed a detailed consultation in April 2005. Since then it has met with almost universal condemnation – although it must be acknowledged that there are many residents who are pleased with the overall speed and noise reduction.
