County Councillor Frances Button and the Conservative Team has consulted your Residents’ Association, Parish and District Councillors and Highways Engineers on how best to allocate £65,000 of extra money for local road and pavement repairs in our County Division (Oxhey Hall, Carpenders Pk and Moor Pk/Eastbury).
As a result, Frances has now allocated £25,000 to Brookdene Ave pavements, considered the worst in Oxhey Hall. This will pay for repairs to the most damaged areas, from Green Lane to the bus stop and the area around the bus stop on the Oaklands Ave side. The rest of the money will go to Carpenders Park and Eastbury.
Since her election just two years ago, Frances has pushed for road improvements in Hampermill Lane (near the Esso Garage in 2009, and now between the junctions of Vivian Gardens and Brookdene Ave), Green Lane, Anthony Close, a traffic scheme in Brookdene Avenue, and large patching in Vivian Gardens and Oaklands Ave near the post box. She says “Now is time for more investment in our pavements, and I will fight for continued improvements in Oxhey Hall. Meanwhile I have asked Engineers to review the condition of the road surface in Silk Mill Road.”
