Commuters using the Met Station and the residents of Cassio Metro will have noticed that the verges on Metropolitan Station Approach have received a much needed pruning by Hertfordshire County Council. Cassio Metro resident and Conservative campaigner Rosemarie Moore says “This has not only improved visibility and light for pedestrians using the footpaths, but appears to have deterred much of the littering too. I very much hope that these verges will form part of an ongoing maintenance programme and would like to thank the officers at HCC for acting on the concern raised by myself and others.”
Four lights remain out near the Met Station and its car park. Conservative campaigner and nearby resident Rosemarie Moore has been in correspondence with authorities after first reporting the issue in November. However, the issue has become rather complicated, with ownership and technical issues arising. At the present time, HCC’s electrical contractors are working with NCP’s electrical contractors to rectify the situation. Rosemarie says “I am closely monitoring this issue, remaining in contact with TfL and NCP, and hope to secure a solution to reinstate safety in the area for residents and commuters in the coming days.”
